Smage Wins El Trial de Espana Trial
Sherco USA’s Patrick Smage etched his name in the history books with a solid win at this year’s El Trial de Espana Trial in Anza, California. The event, which also doubled as round one of the 2012 National MotoTrials Series was a tough one, with plenty of massive granite slabs and drop offs to challenge the field. Smage posted two solid loops in the morning to enter the afternoon exhibition portion of the event with a huge lead over Beta’s Cody Webb, who suffered a pair of uncharacteristic fives during the morning segment. At the end of the exhibition, Smage claimed the win over Webb with Gas Gas USA’s Keith Wineland finishing third.
